How OmnidiaMarket works
PLAY-MONEY · NO REAL MONEYOn OmnidiaMarket you forecast real-world questions by buying outcome shares with virtual tokens, and each outcome’s price moves to reflect what the crowd thinks will happen. The price is the crowd’s probability estimate, kept mathematically sound by an automated market maker. Virtual tokens only — no real money.
How do prediction markets work?
A prediction market turns a question into a set of outcomes you can forecast, and the price of each outcome is the crowd’s estimate of how likely that outcome is. When more players forecast an outcome, its price rises toward 100%; when they forecast against it, the price falls toward 0%. A price of 64% simply means the crowd currently gives that outcome a 64% chance.
A market on OmnidiaMarket has a title, a clear resolution rule, a resolution date, and two or more outcomes. When the real-world result is known, the market resolves and players who forecasted the correct outcome gain virtual tokens. No real money changes hands at any point.
How is the probability calculated?
OmnidiaMarket calculates each outcome’s probability with an automated market maker called LMSR (the Logarithmic Market Scoring Rule), the same family of pricing used by serious prediction markets. In plain language, LMSR is a formula that always quotes a fair price to forecast either way and nudges that price up or down as players trade — so the number you see is a live, crowd-weighted probability rather than a fixed guess.
Because LMSR is always willing to take the other side, every market stays liquid and priced even when only a few players are active, and the prices of all outcomes always add up to 100%. As more virtual tokens flow toward one outcome, its price rises and the others fall, keeping the implied probabilities consistent and mathematically honest.
You never need to do the math yourself: the app shows the current probability for every outcome, and a live preview of how your forecast would move the price before you confirm it. All of this runs on virtual tokens — there is no real money and no cash-out.
Is this real-money gambling?
No. OmnidiaMarket is a play-money game and is not real-money gambling. You forecast with virtual in-app tokens that have no cash value: they cannot be bought, sold, deposited or converted to currency. Virtual tokens only. No real money. No cash-out. Just bragging rights.
Tokens are simply how you keep score. Forecasting well moves you up the leaderboard and earns bragging rights — that is the entire reward. OmnidiaMarket is intended for users aged 18 and over.
What can I do with virtual tokens?
You use virtual tokens to forecast outcomes, and you earn more by forecasting correctly. New accounts start with 1,000 tokens, and you can use them to predict on public markets, compete on global and community leaderboards, and forecast against friends in private rooms. Tokens never convert to money — they are purely for play and bragging rights.
